 I received the friendship stone about two years ago from a good friend. I try to keep it in my pocket at all times, even when I change my clothes, because I like to reach in and touch it every so often. There is something reassuring about having the smooth object at close range, to be able to turn it over in my hand. It seems to offer a kind of strength and power that gives me comfort. Whenever I touch the stone I think of my friendship with Cathy. A couple of times I was sure I had lost it, only to find it in an unexpected place - like my sock drawer - and I remember the feeling of relief that would come over me. The stone is not only beautiful and luminous but also emanates real warmth, which reminds me of my connection with Cathy.
